Children often enter sport and physical activity programs after the sensitive periods accelerated adaptation to training have past. These individuals are therefore dependent on schools, recreation programs, and other sports to develop these capacities.
In line with the philosophy of CS4L, LTAD recommends that all organizations and institutions that contribute to sport and physical activity collaborate in supporting appropriate athlete training at all ages and stages of LTAD.
If athletes miss the sensitive periods of trainability, and they want to stay involved or progress in sport and physical activity, they will otherwise need to find individualized programs to remedy their shortcomings.
